Help Available For Those Seeking ACA Health Insurance Coverage

HONOLULU – Multiple outreach events will take place on Oahu for those interested in hands-on help with health insurance enrollment through the federal Affordable Care Act (ACA) marketplace. Interested individuals should bring documentation such as a valid passport, I-94, social security number, and proof of income (i.e., pay stubs) if applicable for all household members seeking insurance.

Local assistance is available across the state. Please see www.hawaiihealthconnector.com/events for details on enrollment events near you. If you are interested in in-person assistance and do not have a computer, you may call 1-877-628-5067 for assistance in a variety of languages or more information on events in your neighborhood.

Individuals can also enroll online at www.HealthCare.gov or by calling the federal marketplace at 1-800-318-2596 (open 24 hours a day, seven days a week).

As a reminder, Dec. 15, 2015, is the last day to sign up for health insurance effective Jan. 1, 2016. Individuals need to re-enroll for continued coverage in 2016 even if they were enrolled in a 2015 ACA plan.

Outreach events will continue throughout ACA open enrollment, which ends on Jan. 31, 2016.
