Homeless Services – Shifting the Paradigm

Posted on May 1, 2015 in NEWS

Hawaii State Homelessness Coordinator, Colin Kippen, and the director of the Utah Homeless Task Force, Lloyd Pendelton, discuss the Housing First model, a coordinated entry, assessment, and housing placement system that matches housing and services to the needs of the homeless person or family.

Kippen and Pendelton told Town Square host, Beth-Ann Kozlovich, that Housing First has significantly decreased Utah’s homeless population and Hawaii hopes to emulate that success.  This conversation was broadcast Thursday, April 30, 2015 on Hawaii Public Radio’s Town Square.
