Here for Her

JUST IN: To honor International Working Women’s Day 2021, the Hawai’i State Commission on the Status of Women and Samaritan Counseling Center Hawai’i are launching the Here for Her pilot project that will offer free therapy to single mothers to cope with the mental health impact of the covid-19 pandemic and systemic sexism, racism and class oppression. The project is designed to rethink structures of support for working women, and includes formal training for Samaritan Counseling Center Hawai’i staff and therapists on the structural, cultural and ideological roots of mental health outcomes and resources for single mother clients.
