Welcome!

HAWAI‘I DIVISION OF VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION

Message from the Administrator

Aloha and welcome! Our vision at the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation is “Move Forward to Work.” We would like to think of ourselves as the agency of choice for persons with disabilities who are looking to enter or retain integrated, competitive employment. As Hawai‘i’s primary agency directly responsible for the employment needs of our citizens with disabilities, we are committed in Hawai‘i’s efforts in establishing a 21st century workforce.

DVR’s offices on Hawai‘i Island, Maui, Moloka‘i, O‘ahu and Kaua‘i, are accessible statewide within our communities in order to meet the needs of those individuals seeking our services.

With the passage of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) in July of 2014, Hawai‘i’s DVR program has been actively working with core partners from the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, Department of Education, Department of Health, University of Hawai‘i and the network of Community Colleges, as well as divisions within the Department of Human Services to develop impactful and integrated services.

Under the WIOA, DVR has embraced initiatives to invest in the skills of students with disabilities along with their families, as well as disenfranchised youth, as they access opportunities to become self-sufficient adults in tomorrow’s workforce. DVR remains committed to partnering with Hawai‘i’s employers to reinforce networks of support so participants can achieve their hopes and aspirations for meaningful employment and thrive as active citizens in our community.

May your review of these website resources provide you with an understanding of DVR’s values and commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of those we serve. If we can be of further assistance, please call us or stop by, and hopefully together we can get you connected with where you want to go.
