VR Background

Hawaii Division Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) under the Department of Human Services is a statewide resource for people with disabilities seeking employment. Services provided by the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation is tailored to help persons with disabilities obtain competitive employment that is aligned with their job skills, interests, and abilities.

Individualized planning and services ensures consumers receive specific preparation that are essential to their employment needs, goals, and successes. DVR staff work with the core partners from the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, Department of Education, Department of Health, University of Hawaii and the Community Colleges as well as Divisions within the Department of Human Services in developing high quality services to our consumers.

Additionally, DVR staff creates positive relationships with our community and businesses to develop various employment opportunities for our consumers.
