HRS Sections 346-16, 346-17, and 346-154, require all operators and staff of foster boarding homes, child-caring institutions and child-placing organizations to be processed for a criminal history records clearance.  The initial clearance requires that fingerprints be forwarded to the Federal Bureau of Investigations for a national records check; thereafter, only a record check of local files will be required annually or biennially.

The Child Welfare Services Branch (CWSB) is TEMPORARILY handling fingerprinting requirements for criminal history clearances.  Until further notice, please use the below forms to complete your background check.  The approved contractor, Fieldprint, is expected to be operational by the end of the year.
