Summer Fun Fee Waiver
Posted on Apr 23, 2014 in NEWSThe City and County of Honolulu’s Summer Fun Program serves about 9,000 school age children and teens each year. State and county agencies work together to ensure that as many kids as possible participate in the programs. Sessions run about seven weeks.
There is a $25 registration fee for Summer Fun programs. The fee may be waived for recipients of Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. The Department of Human Services (DHS) will mail each recipient family a letter that lists the names of children eligible for the fee waiver. Families must present this letter at the time of registration to receive the $25 waiver. The DHS letters will be mailed the week of April 28, 2014. If you live on Oahu with children ages five through thirteen and receive financial or food assistance from the DHS, please contact your processing center if you did not receive a letter by the date you must register for summer fun.
