Federal Government Shutdown Impacts on SNAP Benefits – click here: The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) provided notice on October 24, 2025 that SNAP benefits for the month of November 2025 are suspended effective November 1, 2025. DHS will share more information about the HAWAI‘I RELIEF PROGRAM on October 29, 2025. This program will provide eligible families with dependent children the opportunity to receive payment support for housing or utilities. DHS is committed to communicating clearly, working with compassion, and providing support throughout this interruption.
Medicaid coverage for use of telehealth continues: Med-QUEST wants to assure all Medicaid members and providers that telehealth is still a covered way to receive and provide care. There is some confusion because the federal government shutdown has limited Medicare’s (NOT MEDICAID’s) ability to cover telehealth. We encourage all Med-QUEST members and providers to proceed as normal regarding use of telehealth.
